Congratulations to all our graduating seniors!

The Carthage Press has a great article about our own Luisa Castañeda-Cano, CHS valedictorian, and the love and support of her mother Liliana that helped her along the way.

It was a mother's love that brought Liliana (Cano) Rupp to America in the first place 30 years ago as a foreign exchange student. It was Liliana's mothering that brought her back to the United States 15 years ago to give her children a brighter future. On Thursday, Liliana's daughter, Luisa, will graduate as the first and last Hispanic female Valedictorian for Carthage High School – due to the installment of the cum laude system next year. “God gave me such a strong mom,” Luisa said. “First and foremost, my mom told me that my circumstances did not define me. She did so much for my brother and me, that me succeeding is my way of paying her back. She said 'everything I taught you is my legacy.' And I want to make her proud.”
